Dell Inspiron™ is a budgeted notebook. Though the notebook may not perform like any multimedia powerhouse, yet it is said to perform quite well and better than similar range of economy notebooks. The Inspiron™ 13 is powered by the Intel® Pentium® Dual Core processor that lets it score almost similar to the budgeted notebooks with Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processors (like a Dell Studio™ 15 laptop).
Usability:
The laptop is targeted toward student base of users yet it is equipped with enough power to perform anything beyond word processing, graphical editing, playing iTunes®. But gaming on this notebook is out of the question as this model is not designed for this. The primary benefit with the Inspiron™ 13 is the good battery life.

FIVE – Input and Output Ports
The port selection and design of Dell Inspiron™ 13 has few USB ports distributed around the construction of the notebook. It has one USB port on each side of the Inpiron 13. Other input and output ports you find around the perimeter of the Inspiron™ 13 are for 10/100LAN, FireWire, VGA, Multi-Card Reader, Headphone and Microphone, Expresscard/54.
FOUR – Battery
The Inspiron™ 13 comes with the 6-cell battery that makes the notebook highly capable. If the laptop is display is set to maximum brightness, browsing web with wireless functions on, the battery life will be around 5 hours, however, if you are watching a DVD, the battery life will shrink to around 3 hours with this 6-cell.
THREE – Display and speakers
The Dell Inspiron™ 13 boasts 13.3” glossy WVGA widescreen display. This widescreen display supports 1280×800 pixels resolutions that feature quite good combination of brightness and contrast levels. But its glossy surface tends to fare poorly under the bright sunlight when it is difficult to read. However, the glossy screen will not pose any display problem indoors where it gives rich color and vibrant output.
TWO – Keypad and Touchpad
The Inspiron™ 13 has a full sized matte black keyboard. The keyboard is quite spacious with adequate spacing and travel advantages. The key feel is great with soft key click sound. The touch sensitive media controls are placed on the keyboard and the touchpad is found at the bottom with nice textured feel.
